Full Time About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a Bexleyheath-based Local Authority for an experienced Employment Advisor to support local residents in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving sustainable job outcomes. Working with a diverse caseload, you will provide tailored one-to-one support, helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to move closer to or return to work.
This role will involve supporting clients who may be vulnerable, disengaged, or resistant to employment support services, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, empathetic approach.
Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of clients and provide tailored employment support. Conduct assessments and develop personalised action plans. Support clients with job searching, CV development, applications, and interview preparation. Identify and address barriers to employment, signposting clients to appropriate support services where required. Build positive working relationships with employers, training providers, and partner agencies. Encourage and motivate clients to engage with employment and training opportunities.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with programme and local authority requirements. Monitor progress and work towards agreed employment outcomes and targets. Essential Requirements Previous experience as an Employment Advisor, Job Coach, Employment Support Officer, Work Coach, or within a similar employment-focused role. Experience working within employment support, welfare-to-work, return-to-work programmes, or related services. Ability to effectively engage and support vulnerable, disengaged, or resistant clients.
Strong communication, coaching, and motivational skills. Excellent organisational and case management abilities. Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate customer records. Ability to work fully office-based in Central Bexleyheath. Must be able to successfully pass a Standard DBS Check .
Desirable Requirements
Experience of IPS (Individual Placement and Support) and/or SEQF programmes. Knowledge of local labour market trends and employment support services. Previous experience within a Local Authority, public sector, health, or community-based setting.
