The Avon Maitland District School Board is seeking applications for a Temporary Designated Early Childhood Educator role for the 2026/2027 school year. Once in this role, you will work closely with a classroom teacher to develop age-appropriate learning programs that enhance cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development. Your responsibilities will include supporting a full day of Kindergarten and using effective classroom management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in planning educational programs and environments

• Support the classroom teacher in daily Kindergarten activities

• Utilize effective classroom management techniques

• Communicate courteously with children and parents

• Assist in creating an inclusive learning atmosphere

Requirements:

• Two-year ECE diploma from a recognized college

• Current Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators registration

• Recent ECE experience in a learning center or daycare

• Knowledge of Kindergarten Program legislation

• Strong organizational and time management skills
