Become a pivotal part of Early Childhood education at the Avon Maitland District School Board. This temporary position offers the chance to collaborate and foster development in Kindergarten students.

The Avon Maitland District School Board is currently accepting applications for temporary Designated Early Childhood Educator positions at various locations for the 2026/2027 school year. As a DECE, you will work under the guidance of the Principal and alongside classroom teachers, focusing on creating effective learning experiences in Kindergarten. You will also employ age-appropriate educational strategies and manage classroom dynamics efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with teachers in planning engaging educational programs

• Facilitate Kindergarten activities and support student development

• Implement effective classroom management techniques

• Provide support and communicate with parents and staff

• Foster an inclusive and safe learning environment

Requirements:

• ECE diploma from a community college

• Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators

• Recent ECE experience in relevant educational settings

• Familiarity with Ministry of Education guidelines

• Strong communication and organizational abilities
