Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for an Ground Systems Engineer to join our team in Seal Beach, California.
The SI&WS GMSE division creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with both commercial and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.
The Ground Systems Engineer will join a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work proprietary programs for U.S. government customers who are responsible for exciting advanced technology national security missions.
Position Responsibilities- Apply modern Dev Sec Ops practices (including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code) to streamline integration and test activities
- Stand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud-native and virtualized resources
- Drive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliability
- Automate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls
- Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability
- Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated polygraph, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship
- 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Ansible software platform
- Experience with Terraform software
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
- Experience with Packer, Nessus, and Trivy Dev Sec Ops tools
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS), cert-manager, Harbor, Postgres, and Windows
- Experience with Shell and Python Scripting
- Experience working with Government customers
