Astro Forge is seeking an innovative and experienced Research Physicist to join our growing R&D team. This individual will play a key role in developing and optimizing advanced scientific instruments and methodologies, with a focus on charged particle optics, lasers, and related technologies. • Lead and contribute to experiments involving charged particle optics, lasers, and other cutting‑edge technologies.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize laboratory systems, including vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and optical setups.
• Interface with and automate a variety of scientific instruments (e.g., lasers, cameras) to streamline experimental workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and test experimental prototypes and systems.
• Document and present findings through technical reports, presentations, and publications.
• Maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with best practices and safety standards.

• Education: PhD in Physics or related fields (e.g., Applied Physics, Engineering).
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a research or product development capacity, ideally in designing, building, and testing charged particle optics.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of laboratory practices, particularly those involving vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and optics. Proficiency in interfacing and automating scientific instruments, including lasers, cameras, and data acquisition systems. Hands‑on expertise in charged particle optics, lasers, or closely related areas.
