Job SummaryThe Boeing Safety, Security & Airworthiness (SS&A) organization is looking for a Senior Project Engineer (Level 4 or Level
5) to join the Aviation Safety Team within Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance. The role supports the continued safe operation of today’s commercial fleet and in developing the next generation of commercial aircraft.
- Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
- Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
- Works with customers and management to obtain approval.
- Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
- Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
- Identifies performance metrics.
- Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
- Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
- Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
- Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
- Works under minimal direction.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 9+ years of experience performing complex engineering or system integration work.
- 9+ years of experience in leading and/or managing complex projects.
- 9+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers and business partners.
- Experience in System Safety or Software Safety.
- 10+ years of experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
- 7+ years of experience with US and/or foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes.
- Good communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiatives without supervision.
- Project Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI ).
- Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplines.
- Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product and certification lifecycle.
- Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear. Take ownership/initiative, pull teams together, establish battle rhythm and remove roadblocks.

Summary Pay Range:
- Senior (Level
4): $138,550 - $187,450 - Senior (Level
5): $165,750 - $224,250

- Export Control Requirements:
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62. - Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required.
