Position SummaryThe Inventory Control Manager will be a key role in our Operations team, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Inventory Control Manager will oversee the lifecycle of the company’s physical inventory - ensuring accurate records and efficient movement of goods to meet the demands of a fast‑paced wholesale organization. The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory systems, monitoring stock balances, coordinating cross‑divisionally with Sales and Buying teams, and maintaining inventory control best practices.
The role requires strong analytical skills, organization, a curious approach to problem‑solving, and effective communication.
- Maintain balance between Stock Locator & Perpetual Inventories
- Validate inventory updates after all receiving verifications are balanced
- Work with DC team to ensure that non‑stock locations are kept clean, and goods are re‑stocked in a timely manner
- Oversee Cycle Count process & establish achievable timelines for counts through each product division
- Review & Approve Daily Counts
- Research & correct inventory discrepancies within 48 hours of discovery
- Perform inventory adjustments as needed
- Constant review of all processes related to inventory movement
- Work with management teams to review and implement recommended changes to processes to improve tracking & accuracy of inventory
- Train DC & Operations Staff on best practices related to inventory tracking & accuracy
- Inventory reporting as needed (i.e., aged inventory, adjustment reports, etc.)
- Document all procedures/processes for maintaining inventory accuracy post‑receipt
- Oversee implementation of RFID rollout across multiple distribution centers
- Special projects
- Quality Control
- Inventory Audits
- Physical Inventory (if needed)
- Write‑offs: physical & systematic move of inventory to “Graveyard”
- 4‑5 years of relevant experience in inventory control in a wholesale setting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills: reporting, v‑lookups, pivot tables, sum/if, size manipulation and concatenation, transforming tables, ability to transcribe and reverse transcribe
- Effective time management and adherence to deadlines
- This role requires providing updates and heavy reporting across the organization
- Must be detail oriented and extremely organized
- ERP software experience preferred, RF device experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
- Critical thinking skills and analytical decision maker
- Self‑sufficient with time management and execution of tasks not much oversight required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field or applicable professional experience preferred, but not required
