Reporting to the Senior Manager, Polymer and Pretreatment, the Technical Services Consultant is responsible for providing application support to sales representatives and clients in product screenings and treatment program selection, troubleshooting treatment programs to meet cost and performance objectives, and preparing written trip reports to document recommendations and results to assist the sales representatives in advancing the selling process.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide polymer expertise in the Chemical/Refining and Food & Beverage verticals with support to the Chem Treat field sales representatives as needed throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America, making a difference in water quality and applying your industrial technical experience in wastewater.
The ideal candidate would be located in the Houston area and travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week (about 70% of travel).
This position is part of the Polymer team located in Houston and will be remote.
Typical Day- Provide field sales technical assistance and product recommendations, including plant surveys, proposal preparation, sales presentations, application testing and customer/prospect entertainment.
- Apply knowledge of polymer chemistry, polymer uses, and testing procedures.
- Provide expertise to Chem Treat sales representatives in product screening and treatment program selection, application of chosen treatment programs, and troubleshooting treatment programs to meet cost and performance objectives in the Chemical/Refining and Food & Beverage areas.
- Travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week.
- Provide field troubleshooting and technical assistance as required, including problem solving, sales representative on‑site training, operator training, and equipment inspections.
- Bachelor of Arts/Sciences or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or related fields is required.
- Ten or more years of field experience in water and wastewater treatment will be considered as an equivalent to a four‑year degree.
- Five or more years’ experience with a major water treatment company.
The compensation range for this role is $145,000 - $155,000 USD per year.
