Job Summary

Maintenance Managers will troubleshoot and repair any piece of machinery to ensure it works properly and is safe for employees to use. The Maintenance Manager must approve all installation and repair activities completed by anyone on their maintenance team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement among the manufacturing team, promoting adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing operations, improve productivity, and enhance efficiency.
  • Keep the plant and manufacturing equipment up and running, while minimizing/eliminating downtime.
  • Keep plant and manufacturing equipment safe to operate.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets and minimize costs.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure consistent quality, adherence to specifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies, to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage inventory levels, ensure timely delivery of materials, and minimize disruptions in production.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing sector, and proactively recommend appropriate adjustments to operations.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for manufacturing operations, tracking expenses, controlling costs, and making recommendations for cost‑saving measures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required

  • In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement data‑driven decisions.
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software systems and tools for production planning, inventory management, and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
  • Routinely working at a height that requires fall protection.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints.
  • Ability to obtain Hilo and crane certifications.

    Ability to work at heights using man lifts and ladders, as well as performance of roof work.
  • Basic electrical (DC and AC voltage), welding (Arc, MIG, TIG, and spot), and plumbing knowledge.
  • Desire to work in a team‑based, lean‑manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift, as well as overtime, as required to meet business requirements.
  • Ability to provide own basic tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in manufacturing operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, administration or facility management.

Job Requirements

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
