CNC Machine Operator & Programmer
Location: Sealy, TX | Company: Apex Stone
Position Overview:
Apex Stone is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator & Programmer to join our team. This role is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC saws used in the fabrication of custom natural stone products. The ideal candidate will have CNC experience, strong programming skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate multiple CNC saws to cut and shape natural stone to precise specifications.
Write and modify CNC programs to optimize cutting paths and minimize waste.
Maximize material usage and report labor/machine time for project tracking.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop tickets, and CAD files.
Calculate dimensions/tolerances using applied math and measuring tools.
Inspect raw material for defects and document non-conforming pieces.
Perform machine setups, install tooling, and calibrate equipment.
Conduct daily maintenance inspections and assist with mechanical troubleshooting.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and conformance with specifications.
Collaborate with project managers and production teams to meet deadlines.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
CNC programming and operation experience; stone fabrication experience preferred.
Ability to read technical drawings with strong spatial reasoning.
Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
Math skills, including addition, subtraction, and visualization of measurements.
Ability to read/write English for work orders, blueprints, and safety instructions.
Detail-oriented, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; CNC certification a plus.
2+ years of CNC operation/programming in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
