Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to do so. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and to report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. You would be responsible for completing all inspections in your county and may split the county with another inspector if there is volume for two inspectors.

- Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops across the territory.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Even though you are paid per inspection, you can earn an equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates.
There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory.
