Job Summary: The Stockroom Attendant is responsible for organizing, maintaining inventory, and supplying necessary items for the storeroom while maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities- Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records and update the inventory management system. Perform regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies as needed. - Shipping:
Prepare finished goods for shipment by transporting and staging crates and slabs to appropriate areas. Coordinate with the fabrication and sale department to schedule and track outgoing shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers. Verify shipping documents and ensure that all items are correctly documented and packed. - Establish and maintain computerized inventory system for managing parts and supplies.
- Organize and manage the inventory in the storeroom and keep accurate inventory counts.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Provide assistance to the maintenance department, including issuing, delegating, and tracking PMs & work orders.
- Order, receive, and put away parts and supplies.
- Check packing slips for accuracy on all received parts and supplies.
- Update and maintain information in various programs to include Excel, Word, Office, etc. and stone profits.
- Responsible for researching, sourcing, ordering, and purchasing parts online and in person as needed for maintenance work.
- Picking up parts/supplies for the Maintenance department.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory to assure proper availability of required stock.
- Operate a forklift when necessary.
- Safety Compliance:
Safety is a condition of employment. Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience in warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving, preferably in the quartz or natural stone industry are preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Valid forklift operator certification or license is preferred. Forklift and overhead crane certification training will be provided as needed. Additional certifications for material handling equipment are a plus. Must have a valid State issued driver’s license to operate a forklift.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent are preferred; additional certification or training in warehouse management is a plus.
PhysicalJob Requirements
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials (30-50 lbs.), stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions and exposure to noise.
