Housekeeper

Shift: Night shift 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. / Weekend shift 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (every other weekend).

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” Any associate actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform indirect patient care by cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining floors, walls, and other surfaces in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive fashion free of hazards for the well‑being of patients, associates, and self.
• Follow infection control, housekeeping department policies and procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Remove trash, biohazardous waste, and contaminated soiled linen from all areas of the hospital according to housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Request cleaning supplies and equipment, maintain equipment in working condition, and follow manufacturer practices.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED; must be able to read and write.
• Experience:
  
  Ability to understand written and oral instructions; previous experience desirable but not required.
• Physical:
  Ability to sit, walk, bend, push carts and other equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Other:
  Exhibit ability to set priorities, organize workload, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment.
