Housekeeper Specialty Campus

Unity Health is seeking a Housekeeper for our hospital environment. This role includes indirect patient care through cleaning occupied and unoccupied patient areas and maintaining a hygienically clean and hazard-free environment for patients, other associates, and self. The position requires adherence to infection control, housekeeping department policies and procedures, and safety guidelines. Knowledge of the physical location of hospital departments (e.g., CCU, OB, ER) is helpful.

Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting areas with approved solutions, requesting cleaning supplies and equipment as needed, and maintaining equipment to keep it clean, neat, and in working order.

• Housekeeper I:
  Performs indirect patient care by cleaning and disinfecting areas, maintaining a hygienic environment, following infection control and safety policies; understands hospital department locations; handles waste according to policy; maintains equipment.
• Housekeeper II:
  Performs indirect patient care by cleaning/disinfecting and maintaining floors; removes trash and biohazardous waste and contaminated linen; requests supplies and maintains equipment per manufacturer practices.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED. Must be able to read and write proficiently.
• Training and
  
  Experience:
  
  Ability to understand written and oral instructions; maintains good physical and emotional well-being; ability to sit, walk, bend, push carts and other equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Job Knowledge:
  Ability to set priorities, organize workload, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment. Previous experience desirable but not required.
