Performs direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the RN and LPN. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation and completion of procedures related to basic human, mental, spiritual, and social needs; comfort and safety measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. Indirect patient care includes cleaning occupied and unoccupied patient areas and maintaining a neat, hazard‑free environment.

An understanding of and willingness to follow infection control and safety guidelines is mandatory.

Maintains good physical and emotional well‑being. Requires lifting and moving patients, pushing carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; can lift or push up to 50 pounds. Must bend over for tasks, maneuver through halls, stairways, and patient rooms in emergencies. Requires visual and auditory skills. Significant writing and computer entry required. Exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids, and minimal exposure to noxious cleansing agents may occur.

Protective gear (gloves, masks, gowns, goggles) may be necessary.

  High school graduation or equivalent, with reading, math, and clear writing skills.

  Previous nursing assistant or other patient‑related experience desirable but not required.

  Ability to perform direct and indirect patient care, including personal hygiene, observation of vital signs, feeding, elimination patterns, housekeeping, ordering supplies, and simple computer entry.
