This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMOs and other physician’s offices, as well as with the patient.

Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.

• Prepare patients and assist the physician with procedures and minor surgeries.

• Maintain equipment and liaison with outside agencies to coordinate care (hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMOs, other physician offices).
• Support other medical staff to maintain patient flow.

• Education:
  
  Certified or registered Medical Assistant from an accredited institution required (RMA).
• Training and
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years medical office experience preferred in a clinical setting. Lab, EKG and X-ray experience preferred.
• Job Knowledge:
  Understands the role of working as part of a medical care team. Understands limitations and responsibilities. Skilled at effectively communicating with patients or their delegates.
