Sanitation Operator - 2nd Shift (Turkey Hill)

Responsibilities- Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and assemble all equipment associated with the manufacture of mixes and ice cream products in accordance with all applicable SSOPs related to sanitary condition, cleanliness, and equipment condition.
- Monitor CIP and COP Unit outputs and make required adjustments to chemical concentrations, heat and flow rates to maintain cleaning specifications.
- Responsible for cleaning the production environment and peripheral areas.
- Works closely with machine operators to evaluate proper cleaning and food‑safe conditions of equipment.
- Maintain activities consistent with the Sanitation Manual and sanitation procedures as part of the overall quality system.
- Perform cleaning verification as required through visual, chemical, and ATP swabbing as part of the sanitation process.
- Perform housekeeping, general sanitation, and product quality assessment responsibilities throughout the sanitation process.
- Read labels on chemicals and cleaning agents to understand their use.
- Understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) to learn about chemicals used including first aid and safety.
- Ensure department records are complete and accurate.
- Maintain the integrity of the quality system.
- Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Exhibit continuity to the site supporting corporate and local management policies.
- Keep management informed of developments as they occur.
- Be engaged in the day‑to‑day running of the business by performing tasks beyond the normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must work in a team environment.
- Maintain adherence to scheduled work hours, including start, end, lunch and break times.
- Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines.
- Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting with high noise levels (. PPE required).
- Required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
- Frequently required to stand and walk for 8+ hours.
- Work may occur in environments with temperatures ranging from ambient to –25º F.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable, perform various job‑related tasks.
- Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Must inspect all job‑related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use, and use hands/fingers to operate various types of office equipment.
- Must operate all job‑related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
