FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income, enjoy a flexible schedule, and can work in Reno, NV or other counties. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is:

• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

We contract with inspectors at a county level, meaning you would be responsible for completing all inspections in your county. In some cases, you may split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.

• Most common inspections should only take 5‑6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)

• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30‑40 per hour
.

Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
