About The Role
The Stock Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of inventory management within the UH WCMC and WCMCH facilities. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products, maintaining organized inventory records, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. The Stock Clerk contributes to the smooth flow of goods by utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and barcode scanners, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
This role requires physical stamina and attention to detail to handle heavy lifting, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods while maintaining safety standards. Ultimately, the Stock Clerk supports the overall supply chain operations, enabling other departments to function effectively and meet organizational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy weights regularly as part of job duties.
- Experience with general warehouse operations including shipping and receiving.
- Basic proficiency in using barcode scanning technology and maintaining inventory records.
- Capability to stand for long periods and climb ladders safely.
- Previous experience as a stock clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Familiarity with pallet jack operation and warehouse safety standards.
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management software.
- Strong eye-hand coordination and attention to detail.
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
- Use barcode scanners and inventory management systems to update stock records accurately.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely to move heavy items as needed.
- Assist with shipping preparations, including packing, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies or damages to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize stock flow and storage solutions.
