Pet Bather s role involves engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The position also shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and maintaining pet safety standards.

Pet Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) engages with pet parents and their pets, providing positive experiences, salon services, and delivering on the company’s values. The role supports store cleanliness, recommends solutions for pet parents, and upholds pet safety standards.

• Complete Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification
• Manage the pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations
• Handle check-in and check-out procedures
• Independently perform full bath and brush services and standalone services (nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per Pet Smart bathing standards
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet needs
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents
• Take immediate action if a sick/injured pet is identified and arrange veterinary transport as needed
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services
• Maintain overall store cleanliness
• Assist in other departments as required; other duties may be assigned

• Proficiency in computer applications
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Flexible schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, write, etc. May require reaching with hands and arms; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching; depth perception required. Reasonable accommodations available
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly; may lift more than 100 pounds with team assistance
• Occasional exposure to moving parts, wet environments with pet hair, moderate noise (possibly higher at times), and live animals
