AIRLINE COMPANY

ROLE IS FULL ONSITE IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA, WA

$70-$86/hr COMPENSATION RATE (depending on experience)

THE CLIENT

Our client is a large airline company based in the Greater Seattle Area.

PRODUCT MANAGER

Role Summary:

The Product Manager will be responsible for helping to prioritize and manage the product backlogs for their assigned product area with-in the ITS department of Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role involves collaborating with product and engineering leaders, business stakeholders, designers (if applicable), and engineers to discover, design, develop, implement, test, and refine functionality for the product(s) they support.

The assigned product can be either an internally developed application or a vendor-supported product, which may influence the level of involvement needed during the discover, design, and development phases

Key Duties

Defining the Product through Discovery

  • Participate in identifying areas of opportunity which can be met through the development of digital solutions. Understanding organizational needs for both business stakeholders but also for ITS stakeholders to ensure a balance between enhancing and running a stable product is critical to success.
  • Contribute to a value-based prioritized backlog of opportunities for assigned product which aligns to Alaska’s business strategy and goals.
  • Use product discovery techniques to move from idea to reality. Approach problems with an open mind and embrace learnings from research and discovery.
  • Utilize data, including transactional data, usage statistics, primary user research, and industry information to inform prioritization and solution recommendations.
  • Guiding the Product through Delivery
  • Partner with the product delivery and/or vendor team to deliver the backlog against a prioritized roadmap.
  • Participate and drive in the creation of user stories and acceptance criteria for the delivery team consumable in 2-week sprints.
  • Utilize road mapping skills that inform the creation of release plans, with a strong bias towards incremental delivery and iteration.
  • Participate in delivering results for key product metrics and goals that supports business objectives using the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) model.
  • Begin to exercise judgment when key tradeoff decisions are required, using available data when it exists and escalating as appropriate.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred Experience


• Knowledge of the airline and/or travel industries and related technologies.


• General understanding of app development and API services.


• Knowledge of agile product development concepts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duration: 5/19 to start, to run for 1 year, with chance to extend.

Location: Sea Tac, WA. Hybrid onsite - will need to be able to come into office for meetings.

Daily Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week, no OT anticipated.

Hardware: Client will provide.

Role Requirements: Client requires a background test & a drug screen before start.
