The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices using a three-way matching system, resolving vendor inquiries, supporting daily payment operations, and assisting with process-improvement initiatives. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Compensation: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Location: Seattle, WA

Contract: On the contract-to-hire program, you will have access to a basic MEC plan.

Responsibilities
  • Process invoices for payment using a three-way matching system (Purchasing, Inventory, Receiving).
  • Prepare and coordinate daily payments for vendors, ensuring proper general ledger coding.
  • Facilitate payments via checks or ACH transfers for all vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve pricing or receiving discrepancies.
  • Conduct vendor follow-ups on missing invoices or overdue payments.
  • Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations, including communication with vendors as needed.
  • Participate in process-improvement and problem-resolution initiatives.
  • Conduct research projects and complete additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; associate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications; ERP experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, professional correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods; occasional standing, walking, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, bending, and reaching.
