Overview

The Host City Coordinator reports to the local Host City Director and will be a key member of the FIFA
26 Host Cities team. They will work in close collaboration with the on-site local FWC
26 team and other stakeholders to support day-to-day planning and execution of FIFA and Host City obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Support
    • Guide new hires through processes and priorities in collaboration with the on-the-ground team.
    • Assist in the preparation of briefings, meeting notes, and presentations.
    • Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth office operations.
    • Help facilitate staff communications related to office use, policies, and workspace updates.
    • Track and maintain records related to workforce movements, access credentials, and space utilization.
  • Cross-functional Coordination
    • Liaise with local FWC
      26 team members, Host City Committee, and external stakeholders to assist in advanced planning.
    • Identify issues early and support timely solutions.
  • Contractual Commitments Tracking
    • Work with the central Host City Management Team to keep deliverables status up to date.
    • Inform the Host City Director and central team of upcoming events and meetings within the Host City.
  • Reporting & Communication
    • Compile, update, and distribute regular reports on Host City progress to FIFA and local organizing teams as needed.
    • Develop  dashboards, timelines, and status updates to provide visibility across team members and projects.
    • Support the creation of executive-level updates for local host city meetings/workshops and Host Committee sessions.
  • Event Readiness
    • Assist FWC

      Functional Area

      s with local site visit planning, logistics coordination, and stakeholder scheduling.
    • Contribute to operational readiness exercises, simulations, and pre-tournament exercises.
  • Tournament Time
    • Provide on-site support for the Host City Director across multiple venues and adapt to changing operational needs.
    • Support coverage, administrative and logistical needs within the integrated command structure.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of education
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset

  • Flexible and adaptable with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes

Work Experience
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in project management, event operations, or large-scale sports/entertainment events
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to track deliverables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g.,  and Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Passion for football/sport and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of the FIFA World Cup 2026
Languages
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
Salary & Benefits

Salary range and benefits are described in the job posting in accordance with Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act. Salary range indicates the position is based in Washington; actual pay is determined by candidate education, experience, and other factors allowed by law.
