Summary
The North America Trade Operations Lead is part of Meta’s Global Trade Operations team, which is part of the Global Scaled Compliance Operations organization. As Trade Operations, we partner closely with all internal business partners engaged in cross-border trade to enable them to move fast, compliantly and efficiently. This includes our Infrastructure, Reality Labs, Enterprise supply chains. In partnership with Trade Legal, Tax and Finance we educate, enable and empower the organization by building sustainable trade compliance practices that align to the needs of the business while also being scalable for a rapidly growing global footprint.
The Trade Operations team is invested in aligning and operationalizing trade practices through a combination of training, responsive partnership, demonstrated experience in both subject matter expertise and customer service.
Regional Trade & Customs Operational Lead Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for trade operations covering the NORAM region, including partnership with internal stakeholders, counsel, and customs brokersFacilitate day-to-day import/export activities and assess accurate documentation for cross-border shipmentsMonitor trade compliance inquiries by governmental enforcement agencies for resolution and root cause analysisDetermine HTS and ECCN classifications and maintain required documentationMonitor compliance through assessmentsSupport internal/external audits and post-entry reviewsDevelop and implement corrective actions for any compliance gapsCoordinate, obtain and manage support for the collection of information and preparation of export/import licenses and permitsDrive efficiencies in operations and within the NORAM Trade Compliance program. Support global trade compliance programs and initiatives including Trade Preference programs, new product introduction efforts, country expansion strategies and development of cross-functional relationshipsWillingness to do all necessary tasks to get the job done. 8+ years experience in global trade compliance related roles, with emphasis on US jurisdiction4-year university degree in business, law, economics, finance or related disciplineDemonstrated experience with trade compliance related routines eg. HTS and ECCN Classification, determining and supporting the Trade Compliance requirements of cross-border movements of goodsDemonstrated experience with US and Customs Regulations and Export Control regulations (under the Export Administration Regulations)Proven track record to work with minimal supervision in fast paced, cross-functional, and global environmentWillingness to travel as requiredPreferred Qualifications
Post-graduate degree in business, law, economics, finance or related disciplineExperience using Canadian Automated Regulatory Management (CARM) System for Canada entries compliance oversightExperience managing export classification programsCustoms broker licensePublic Compensation
$143,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
