Summary

Project Managers at Manson are responsible for all aspects of the project including contracts, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, environmental, and ethics compliance. Project Managers plan, direct, and lead project teams to ensure objectives are completed in conformance with schedule and budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leadership of the project team, which includes managing, teaching and mentoring to create an efficient and effective project team and a positive working environment.
  • Ensures all work meets quality standards and is performed in compliance with contract and permit requirements.
  • Responsible for the financial success of the project. Ensures financial progress is tracked accurately and that labor, cost and forecast reports are completed weekly/monthly.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews project proposal to determine and coordinate time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Utilizes a CPM baseline schedule and provides monthly schedule updates submitted and approved by client to ensure timely completion of the work.
  • Ensures adequate resources are available to the project including management staff, crews, equipment and supplies.
  • Effectively communicates contract changes, entitlement arguments and time/cost impact analysis. Responsible for all contract negotiations with the client and vendors. Conducts negotiations in good faith based on fairness, cooperation and standard of business ethics.
  • Works as member of the estimating team during the project procurement phase.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Leads and directly supervises employees on a construction site.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directs best work practices in conjunction with the VP/Area Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience.
  • Recent experience as a construction project manager, preferably within heavy civil or marine construction.
  • Experience with pile driving or wharf construction highly preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
  • Marine, structures, heavy lifts, or concrete construction preferred.
  • Experience with HCSS & Primavera preferred.
  • 30‑hour OSH certification preferred.
  • Fall Protection Competent Person preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
Job Location

Long term location will be in Seattle, WA. The Project Manager will begin working in the Seattle, WA office but by Summer 2026 will be on site in Anchorage, AK.
