Overview

Senior Preconstruction Manager at HITT Contracting Inc.

Senior Preconstruction Manager leading and managing multiple projects with a team of preconstruction managers and shared resources to deliver preconstruction services from initial program design through final construction documents for assigned projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple projects with a team of preconstruction professionals to deliver exceptional deliverables to clients.
  • Oversee day-to-day preconstruction services from initial program design phase until final construction documents are complete.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, budget estimates from conceptual design to final bidding, comparative studies, value engineering, and present findings to internal and external clients.
  • Lead by example and embody The HITT Way.
Education / Years Of Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, preferred
  • At least 7 years of related commercial construction work experience
  • Has been the lead preconstruction manager on several projects
  • Has led others as a team leader and has worked to develop and coach others
Direction, Supervision & Authority
  • Reports to the Vice President of Preconstruction or Preconstruction Executive
  • Directly supervises preconstruction managers, assistant managers and project engineers
  • Provide complete services to clients and operations teams with minimal oversight
  • Lead multiple project teams in all bid and budget deliverables
  • Participate in hiring and termination processes
Skills / Abilities
  • Software proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite, high proficiency using Excel
  • On Screen Take-off (OST)
  • Adobe products, including Bluebeam
  • Ability to provide complete preconstruction services to clients and operations teams with minimal oversight
  • Prepare and analyze pricing proposals considering market conditions, historical data, material escalation, internal estimates and subcontractor input
  • Manage design and preconstruction phase with stakeholders to move the project into construction
  • Presentations and interviews with clients, including strategic preparation
  • Understand building systems and opportunities to control or reduce costs
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify missing elements for complete proposals
  • Understand project scheduling (P6), phasing and logistical planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand geotechnical reports
  • Understand Building Code and LEED requirements

Base salary range for this position: $ - $. Compensation in other cities and states may vary. The salary is determined by the candidate’s experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
