They are passionate, committed, and motivated about their job and can reach out to campers and create relationships of mutual trust.
They know how to organize their daily responsibilities and make learning a meaningful process. They support thecamperswith their focus, motivation, and learning in class.
They are a dedicated ally in the campers’ process of learning and development.
Specific Training/Teaching Experience in the following dance styles:
Ballet,Jazz, Horton/Modern,Percussion
Responsibilities include but are not limitedto
- Attend all daily classes and activities with assigned group, Monday - Friday between the hours of8:00AM.
- 3:00PM from June 22 through July 31, 2026 - Attend Teaching Artist Training (open to all ECE artists) in the Spring TBD
- Attend Staff Orientations on June 17, 18,20timeTBD
- Create class content for thefiveweeks of camp.
- Provide theAiley Camp Manager with a copy of the classone monthbefore camp starts.
- Choreographfor the final camp presentation in consultation with theAiley Camp Manager , Ailey Camp Administrator, and other faculty.
- Provide onsite support to STG, AC Manager and administrator when not teaching which includes but not limited to:
- Setup/cleanup of classroom spaces
- Supporting the distribution ofsnacks and lunches each day
- Supporting the distribution of classroom materials,attireand AC gear
- Supporting/assisting other faculty in classes as needed
- Assist with planning and executing camp related events
- Assist with tasksin preparation for the final performance
- Participate in free periods, on Fun Fridays, and general supervision of campersduring classes, free periods, breaks and lunches, fieldtripsorevents
- Participate in all rehearsal,preparation,and finalshareactivities to support artistic staff.
- Participate inscheduledstaff meetings and individual meetings with theAiley Camp Manager .
- Provide theAiley Camp Manager with a written evaluation ofstudent’sprogressat the beginning of camp and at the end.
- Experience inage-appropriatechoreography
- Dedication to racial equity and social justice work in the arts
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience working with studentsofmiddle school ages 11-14.
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet campers and alumnineeds
- Provide support to campers duringclasses
- Collaborate with other

Campteachers when necessary - Receptive to ongoing feedback and provide meaningful feedback toAiley Camp Manage rand STGwith the goal of improving
Ailey Camp - Dress in theAiley
Campstaff uniform and in a neat and clean mannerensuring clothing and/or costumes do notcontaininappropriate references for children (alcohol, drugs, profanity, etc.).

- Experience in the arts and artseducation withspecificallymiddle school.
- Experience choreographing dance pieces that are age appropriate foryouth
- Experience working with live music in the classsetting
- Experience in teaching artistry field8+yearsin Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Horton/Modern
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational ability
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must pass background check _ (notrequiredfor virtual programming)
- Adhere to STG Minor Policy
