UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering UWMC and HMC switchboards. Values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, courteous processing of calls. Routes calls for patients, families, staff.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming calls to main telephone numbers for the medical centers
- Transfer external and internal calls
- Provide visitor information and general customer service reception
- Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls (trauma codes, code blue, other medical emergencies)
- Provide paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers
- Monitor and respond to alarms
- High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year experience as a Telephone Communications Operator or equivalent; 6 months additional experience may substitute
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities
