About Us:

Oculus Light Studio is an award-winning lighting design studio based in the Culver City area of Los Angeles, CA, with a satellite studio in Seattle, WA. We are passionate about great lighting design and how it can enhance the visual environment. We believe in collaborative design and enjoy working on a variety of project types.

Oculus offers an engaging, informal, and inclusive work environment, a 9-80 schedule with alternate Fridays off and work-life integration. Currently we work 3 days in the office, with 2 days remote. We are currently looking for a full-time lighting designer in Seattle, with 1-4 years’ experience to join our diverse team, currently working on a wide range of architectural lighting design projects located both locally and around the globe.

About You:

You will be working in close contact with the principals, senior associates, associates and other designers on all aspects of the art, science and business of lighting design, including project management, design, presentations, lighting calculations, and visualizations. You have great organizational skills as you will be working on several lighting design projects at any given time. You will be enthusiastic and resourceful, always looking for a unique perspective and a more efficient method to help us be the best.

You will be collaborative and believe that you succeed only when the team succeeds. You have strong visual and verbal communication skills. Some travel would be part of the position.

You will have approximately 1-4 years of relevant professional lighting design experience. You will have a college degree in Lighting Design (architectural or theatrical), Architecture, Architectural Engineering or Interior Design, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MSOffice, InDesign, Photoshop and Lighting calculation software such as AGI/Dialux/Light stanza, Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus.
