What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Architect to join our Architectural Studio in Seattle, WA. This role is remote. The architecture team shapes sustainable, innovative, and aesthetically striking structures, collaborating with a diverse group of industry experts and in-house engineering teams.

  • Prepares project contract documents for assigned projects from initial concept design through final sheet setup on project drawings, drawing schedules, plans, elevations, sections, and details. Has a good understanding of how to create specifications.
  • Capable of motivating, leading, and managing a small project team of varying staff levels including architects and engineers for a positive completion of multiple projects.
  • Responsible for project work during construction including submittal review, field inspections, responding to RFI’s, and supplemental work including sketches or material approval during submittal review.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and how to interpret and apply them to new construction and to renovation or alteration projects. Gathers code information for review with supervisor.
  • Capable of working proficiently on their own with direction from supervisor and to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Develop presentations, designs, and technical solutions through all project phases.
  • Produce conceptual designs and renderings for project and presentation purposes.
  • Assist with preparing proposals and with marketing and managing clients.
  • Perform building surveys and forensic investigations.
  • Knowledgeable of how to create project schedules and project cost estimates.
Education | Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in REVIT Building Information Modeling Architecture with experience in design and construction documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software such as Sketch Up Pro, Rhino/3D Max or similar is a plus
  • Dynamic, creative, and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and related standards (ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively in team situations and build relationships across overlapping client project work
  • Good oral and written communication skills
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (see Education above)
  • Licensed/Registered Architect in the United States (preferred)
  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite
  • Experience with Micro Station is a plus
  • Experience with specification writing/editing
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $91,000-$115,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
