Seattle Colleges is looking to hire a Senior Director of eLearning in the E-Learning department.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Seattle Colleges District Vice Chancellor for Instruction, the eLearning Senior Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of digital learning across Seattle Colleges. The position champions innovation in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced instruction and service to expand access, equity, and student success outcomes.

Salary Range: $104,498–$144,307 annually (depending on experience). Opportunity is open until filled; first review of materials will begin January 19th, 2026.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Develop the strategic plan and vision for eLearning initiatives district-wide.
  • Supervise a division comprised of multiple teams.
  • Strategically collaborate with mid-level and executive leadership across the District.
  • Represent the District at national and state level or convenings and/or serve on state teams.
  • Lead district-wide coalitions and partnerships with leaders of the Information Technology, Communications, Student Services, Instructional, Guided Pathways, and other departments and divisions to enhance enterprise wide, high quality service.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with the Communication Offices and develop strategies for marketing online programs.
  • In partnership with Instructional leadership and in collaboration with faculty from multiple disciplines, and other non-instructional teams, lead the development of new fully online educational degree and certificate programs based on market and student success research.
  • Serve as the liaison between Student Services and eLearning on issues relating to serving the needs of distant and online students.
  • Collaborate with Seattle Colleges' Foundation on developing grant opportunities relating to serving the needs of online learners.
  • Collaborate and provide consultation to the Information Technology team to ensure the appropriate technology infrastructure is in support of online education delivery.
  • Collaborate with instructional leadership to establish, implement, maintain, and evaluate quality assurance measures for technology-mediated learning.
  • Collaborate with and lead discussions with instructional leadership to provide more eLearning opportunities for students in new and existing programs and courses. Oversee the expansion of micro-credentialing, digital badges, and credit for prior learning pathways.
  • Develop and maintain an advisory structure so that faculty and other stakeholders have a channel for getting information and providing feedback on policies and procedures specific to eLearning.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships within the District, State, & other external organizations, including representing the Colleges at state-wide and national events.
  • Foster relationships with workforce, industry, and community stakeholders to align digital offerings with labor market needs.
