Afterschool Movement Play Coach Part Time

Overview

Kong Academy empowers kids by teaching social and emotional skills through play and movement.

We are looking for enthusiastic, fun, and engaging coaches to join our team as either Lead Coaches or Assistant Coaches. This unique position allows candidates to apply for the Lead Coach role if they have sufficient experience or consider the Assistant Coach role if they are still developing their skills. Our coaches prepare students for a lifetime of movement and growth while helping them develop character and confidence.

• Plan and lead classes based on the Kong Academy Method, focusing on Social Emotional Learning, Development of Executive Functioning Skills, and Movement
• Create an inspiring and enriching atmosphere for students.
• Ensure safety of students and manage behavioral issues
• Provide feedback for children and track their progress
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff members
• Participate in staff training and meetings
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage
• Maintain high energy level, enthusiasm, and engagement during class
• Collaborate with the Management to address any concerns or needs

• 1+ years experience working with children, preferably in a coaching or teaching capacity
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
• Strong knowledge of the Kong Academy Method and its principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Self-motivated and independent
• Passion and patience for teaching children
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)

Part-time

$22.00 - $37.00 per hour

• Do you have any movement certifications? If not, please share your movement background with us (e.g. parkour, gymnastics, climbing, cheerleading etc.).
