Position Summary

The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Carpentry and Boat building related courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

Successful applicants may be invited to interview at one of the colleges in the Seattle Colleges District, North Seattle, Seattle Central, or South Seattle. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.

The salary range for part time faculty is $7,110.33 - $10,649.33 (P1: A1- E7). Target start rate of pay for this position is $7,110.33 - $8,226.33 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter)

  • Teaching or substituting for assigned courses including Intro to Professional Woodworking, Carpentry, Boat building, Applied Math for Technicians at the Wood Technology Center
  • Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success.
