Overview
Jump On Languages is looking for a talented Lead Spanish Teacher to join our team. We pride ourselves on being employee centric and believe teachers are central to a child’s well being and education. We offer multiple programs, including Spanish after school (K-5), Spanish preschool (ages 3-5), and individual or small group tutoring. The position is based in Seattle, not remote, and requires US work authorization.
We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about making language learning fun through hands-on activities, songs, games, outdoor activities, STEAM programs, and cultural connections. The teacher’s role is critical in ensuring children have a safe yet FUN experience learning Spanish. The work schedule is typically around 25 hours per week, with potential to grow to 35+ hours depending on qualifications and interest.
Base pay ranges from $25-$30/hour depending on experience and availability.
Roles include collaboration with the team to support program growth and professional development.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the creation of curriculum material that can be shared with other teachers.
- Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities, games, songs, and lessons aligned with program goals.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Interact with parents to answer ongoing questions and provide progress updates.
- Assist with preparing progress reports for families.
- Assist with transportation of kids from their schools to our location in Phinney Center.
- Support various Spanish program formats (after school, preschool, tutoring) as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field (preferred).
- Experience with children: at least 2 years.
- Fully bilingual Spanish/English.
- First Aid/CPR Certification required, but can be obtained between offer and start date.
- Pass required state and company background checks.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation. WA State driver’s license; a vehicle is not required as we provide one.
- Ability to lift 10 lbs.
- STARS , and/or Childcare Basics and/or School Age Basics courses completed (preferred; must be completed within 30 days of starting).
- Food handler card and blood borne pathogens training required or paid for by us if not already on file.
