Long-Term Substitute 4th Grade Teacher - St. Benedict, Seattle

Overview

St. Benedict Catholic School is a Preschool – Grade 8 Catholic School located in North Seattle, just south of Greenlake. It is our mission to educate the whole child, providing high quality academic instruction in the context of a loving and vibrant Catholic community. The school currently serves 220 students with low class sizes and a diverse population. It employs 13 classroom teachers, 8 specialist teachers, and 4 instructional aides.

The position is a maternity replacement for a self-contained 4th grade classroom during the  school year. The role runs from the last week of January through the end of the school year (June 12th). With guidance from the departing teacher, the successful candidate will write and implement lessons using the current framework for the remainder of the school year.

• Teach in a self-contained 4th grade classroom using the existing curriculum framework to write and implement lessons for the remainder of the school year.

• Ability to foster social and academic growth, demonstrate care for students, strong classroom management, and enthusiasm for learning.
• Willingness to join a dynamic, collaborative staff focused on the betterment of the school community.
• Preference given to candidates who are practicing Catholics and have prior experience in an elementary school setting.

• Base pay range: $35.00/hr – $45.00/hr salary determined based on internal equity, ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and experience, degrees, and certifications.
