Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Tutor (Hourly Assistant I) in the Learning Support Network.
Salary Range: $21.09 to $26.07 annually (depending on experience). Opportunity is open until filled; first review of materials will begin January 2, 2026.
Position SummaryUnder the direction of Learning Support Network staff, non‑student tutors will provide one‑on‑one embedded tutoring and workshops to students in their subject area(s) of expertise. Tutors will work on campus, with students in‑person or online, and assist with training and mentoring of new tutors, as well as marketing and outreach of tutoring services and learning centers. This position primarily works during academic quarters when classes are in session;
work activities may be assigned onsite or remote/online. Trainings and meetings will be conducted primarily onsite. Tutors can work up to 16 hours per week during fall, winter, and spring quarters, with schedules determined quarterly with due notice.

What You Will Be Working On- One‑to‑one tutoring: assist students with coursework, mentor on study skills, direct them to campus resources, and promote self‑efficacy.
- Computer assistance: help students with Microsoft Word, Canvas, and other applications.
- Group tutoring: lead group sessions.
- Embedded tutoring: serve as an embedded tutor in assigned classes, provide individual and group tutoring, and communicate with faculty regarding assignments.
- Workshops: conduct or assist in workshops on academic study skills and other relevant subjects.
- Outreach and marketing: give quarterly classroom presentations, assist with hallway tabling, and help distribute marketing materials.
- Facilitate training and staff meetings: help organize and lead meetings as part of ongoing professional development.
- Mentor new tutors: orient new tutors and incorporate best practices.
- Utilize technology tools:
Zoom, Starfish, ctcLink, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, email, etc. - Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring as a Candidate- Completed college‑level coursework in the subject area(s) with a GPA of 2.5 – 4.0.
