Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Seattle Colleges District Vice Chancellor for Instruction, the eLearning Senior Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of digital learning across Seattle Colleges. The position champions innovation in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced instruction and service to expand access, equity, and student success outcomes.
This position supervises a team including Exempt-unrepresented, Exempt-represented, Classified, Student, Workstudy, and temporary employees.

What you will be working onVision and Oversight
- Develop the strategic plan and vision for eLearning initiatives district-wide.
- Supervise a division comprised of multiple teams.
- Strategically collaborate with mid-level and executive leadership across the District.
- Represent the District at national and state level meetings or convenings and/or serve on state teams.
- As a peer and subject matter expert, lead district-wide coalitions and partnerships with leaders of the Information Technology, Communications, Student Services, Instructional, Guided Pathways, and other departments and divisions to enhance enterprise wide, high quality service.
- Develop strategic partnerships with the Communication Offices and develop strategies for marketing online programs.
- In partnership with Instructional leadership and in collaboration with faculty from multiple disciplines, and other non-instructional teams, lead the development of new fully online educational degree and certificate programs based on market and student success research.
- Serve as the liaison between Student Services and eLearning on issues relating to serving the needs of distant and online students.
- Collaborate with Seattle Colleges' Foundation on developing grant opportunities relating to serving the needs of online learners.
- Collaborate and provide consultation to the Information Technology team to ensure the appropriate technology infrastructure is in support of online education delivery.
- Collaborate with instructional leadership to establish, implement, maintain, and evaluate quality assurance measures for technology-mediated learning.
