Job Opening:
Full-Time Primary Grade Teacher (5th Grade)
STCA seeks a full-time Elementary 5th Grade teacher for the 2025-26 school year, with potential renewal upon mutual agreement. This is a self-contained role in the primary team but responsible for all Elementary Grade content. Additional time allocations will be determined by school needs and candidate strengths.
STCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, about 2 miles east of downtown. The school serves 150 students ages 3-14, with 35% qualifying for free/reduced lunch. Families come from over 34 zip codes; over 60% receive tuition assistance. The staff (the Dream Team) includes about 35 members and is expanding with enrollment.
The Elementary program includes K-5 with 7 teachers and rotating assistants. Each homeroom teacher teaches math, literacy, language arts & writing, science, social studies, and religion—at times shared with colleagues. There are opportunities for collaboration, joint planning through PLC, and implementing creative ideas. Applicants should be mission-driven, highly motivated, dedicated and creative, with a willingness to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds in a Catholic setting.
The ideal candidate will bring passion, energy, faith and a strong work ethic and enjoy partnering with colleagues and parents. The candidate should also strive to help students of varying ability levels succeed. We expect all team members to lead by example.
- Bachelor Degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred)
- Understanding and genuine appreciation of children
- Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered community
- Ability to utilize educational technology in the classroom
- Preferred active Catholic
- Current Washington (or out-of-state) teaching certificate (or ability to obtain one) with a K-5 (minimum) endorsement
Salary
: $37,000 - $60,000. Salary determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant skills and prior relevant experience, degrees and certifications.
