CVA Teacher

THE POSITION: CVA Teacher – 1.0 FTE Non-Continuing Teacher Position - (K-8 and/or multiple middle school endorsement areas)

The Valley School District's Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA), a Personalized Learning Experience program seeks a teacher endorsed in Elementary Education (K-8) and or endorsed in multiple core middle school areas grades 6-8 (Math, Science, STEM, Language Arts, Social Studies).

Qualified applicants will be prepared to teach and evaluate student learning of critical concepts in subject courses from grades kindergarten through 8th grade. The courses are both online and print-based curriculums. Successful candidates will primarily work one-on-one with students and parents through enhanced technologies remotely.

This is a non-continuing teacher position that will work for the remainder of the  school year.

• Bachelor's degree and a valid Washington State certification.
• Successful experience with multiple core endorsements as a classroom teacher at the elementary and middle school levels.
• Successful experience with ALE/online/remote learning.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• A desire for public service of the common good, the ability to problem-solve, and positively represent Valley School District to all audiences.
• A high degree of flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to adjust and use new approaches in performing duties.
• Possess knowledge of the Washington State teacher evaluation system, specifically the Marzano Evaluation Framework.
• A background in educational technology and integrating technology to enhance learning in a one-to-one setting
