Description

At JTM Construction, the role of the Project Engineer in the Special Projects group is to provide critical support to both the Project Manager and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects ranging in value from $400,000 to $20,000,000. Project Engineers are involved in all phases of the project, from estimation through project closeout. The Project Engineer must be able to work closely with others in a team environment.

The individual must be professional and self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills, dependable, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. This position requires travel in the greater Seattle area, depending on the project’s needs. The full salary range for this position is $80,000 – $110,000, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 3%-10% of annual base earnings.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Quantity Take-Offs and Provide Estimate Support
  • Manage Project Submittal and Material delivery Schedules
  • Review Shop Drawings and Material Submittals in correlation to the Design Requirements
  • Prepare and Document Accurate Meeting Minutes
  • Update and Maintain Project Record Documents, Specifications, and Logs
  • Assemble Project Closeout Documentation
  • Request, Review, and Collate Subcontractor/Trade Partner Pricing
  • Draft and Review Project RFI’s for Submission to the Design Team
  • Take and Manage Progress Photos
  • Manage Subcontractor/Trade Partners Scopes of Work as Assigned
  • Participate in Overall Project Safety
  • Contribute to Company Committee

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
  • Minimum of One (1) Year of Experience Working for a Commercial General Contractor
  • Ability to Work with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Creativity and the Ability to Innovate
  • Knowledge of P6, Vista, Autodesk, Plan Grid, and Blue Beam Preferred
  • Positive Attitude and Willingness to Learn
  • Leadership Skills with a Willingness to Lead by Example
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with the Ability to Provide Proof of a Clean Driving Record
  • Able to Pass a Pre-employment Drug Screening and a Criminal Background Check
Physical Requirements
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to remain in stationary position at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • May be working in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to detect and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. Occasionally work in outdoor weather.
