Job OverviewThis Assistant Project Manager will report to the Project Manager or assigned project leadership and provide support on planning, coordination, and direction of pre‑construction and construction management activities for a university program to ensure on‑time delivery. The role involves budget maintenance, quality work product, and contract requirement fulfillment, including design‑phase management and full construction management in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with monitoring contractor, subcontractor, engineer, architect, state and local agency activities.
- Administer and process project logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization.
- Coordinate constructability and peer reviews, estimating, budgets, phasing, contract documents, outreach, and bidding activities.
- Provide project controls, cost, and performance activities: manage submittals, RFIs, ongoing schedule reviews, PCO negotiations, change order compilation, payment application processing, updates to project record drawings, inspections, and reports.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with issuing meeting minutes.
- Monitor project progress and provide routine reporting through daily reports, progress photos, bi‑weekly reports, submittal & RFI logs, and change order logs.
- Coordinate staff and site facility activities, including moving classrooms, offices, and other school facilities.
- Responsible for project closeout activities: punchlists, trainings, securing record drawings, warranties, O&Ms, and final delivery to owner entities.
- Represent owner, Vanir, and related parties in public forums and meetings.
- Maintain safety policy and promote a positive safety culture.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or Business OR 5 years of experience in the PM/CM industry.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
- Expert knowledge of database project controls software (SharePoint, Procore, EADoc, Prolog).
- Construction contract administration experience.
- Safety training.
Salary range: $85,000 – $110,000.
