About You and the Senior Mechanical Engineer Expert Career Opportunity

You are a talented and driven professional who enjoys a collaborative environment and works with a multidisciplinary team to investigate, evaluate, and analyze mechanical systems failures—industrial machinery, consumer products, HVAC, plumbing, construction equipment, workplace safety, and related issues. You are motivated by understanding how and why material failures occur and are interested in opportunities to evaluate pipeline failures, EV charging stations, scaffolding, heavy equipment failures, and other forensic cases.

How You Successfully Impact Clients, the Team, and the Company
  • Perform site, vehicle, and evidence inspections using the necessary technology and software to gather data.
  • Design and conduct testing, perform failure analysis, and collect corresponding data.
  • Evaluate cases and claims, design and build test fixtures, and test hardware.
  • Characterize metallic, polymeric, and ceramic components and complex mechanical systems.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to client groups or present as a keynote speaker at technical conferences to establish expertise.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through continuing education, publication reviews, and technical papers.
  • Prepare technical reports with scientific findings and conclusions.
  • Clearly communicate findings to laypersons and during testimony as needed.
Your Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical, Materials/Metallurgy, or related Engineering discipline;
    Master’s degree may be considered.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure is required.
  • 5+ years of forensic engineering and consulting experience or relevant industry experience.
  • Prior expert witness and testimony experience is strongly preferred.
  • Material testing laboratory experience and knowledge of materials failure modes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, open-minded analytical skills, and a drive to evaluate information to answer complex questions.
