About the Role

MWH is currently seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale, critical water/wastewater treatment plant construction projects in the Seattle, WA area. Projects may be either integrated project delivery such as CM‑at‑Risk or Design‑Build, or traditional Design‑Bid‑Build. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of project delivery, operations, and business development, functioning as a true seller‑doer who can manage projects while building client relationships and contributing to the growth of our company.

This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and a proven record of managing complex, multi‑million‑dollar water infrastructure projects.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the planning, execution, and close‑out of large‑scale water/wastewater treatment plant projects (typically $50M - $300M+).
  • Oversee project teams, including engineers, superintendents, field staff, and subcontractors, providing leadership and technical support.
  • Monitor/control construction, investigating potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials through purchase agreements and subcontracts.
  • Ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met or exceeded.
  • Proactively manage project risk, change orders, and claims, while protecting company interests.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and ensure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices, using company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by senior leadership.
Seller-Doer/Business Development
  • Identify, pursue, and help secure new work in the water/wastewater market, with a focus on existing clients and target pursuits.
  • Collaborate with marketing, estimating, and executive leadership on strategic pursuits and proposals.
  • Participate in presentations, interviews, and industry events to represent the company and build brand visibility.
  • Assist in developing annual business development goals and growth plans for assigned regions or markets.
Client + Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain long‑term client relationships through consistent communication and performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expertise on constructability, delivery methods, and project challenges.
  • Lead or participate in partnering sessions, preconstruction planning meetings, and progress updates.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets; monitor project costs and proactively implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with project accounting and finance teams on forecasts, cash flow, and cost control.
  • Provide timely and accurate monthly reporting.
  • Mentor and develop project staff; foster a high‑performing, team‑first culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional development for assigned team members.
  • Promote a collaborative environment across field and office teams, ensuring alignment and accountability.
