Materials Engineer, Process Engineer
Overview
Metallurgical Engineer (Ph.D.) – Seattle, WA. In this role you will work as part of the Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations; perform materials characterization and specialized testing; and participate in field inspections.
Responsibilities- Conduct hands-on failure analyses
- Perform materials characterization and metallurgical analysis
- Plan, coordinate, and execute laboratory testing
- Conduct field inspections
- Communicate results effectively to technical and non-technical clients and staff
- Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
- Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, with familiarity in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g., metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within project teams and contribute to the team
- Knowledge of failure analysis is desired
- Authorized to work in the US without immigration sponsorship or visa processing
