More than 40% of all fresh produce is wasted in the US, which accounts for over 17 billion dollars in lost product annually and contributes more CO2 emissions than all of US transportation combined. Strella’s goal is to reduce these drastic numbers by making the produce supply chain smarter. Strella predicts the shelf life of perishable products through a combination of proprietary sensors, machine vision, and supply chain insights.

We use this data to reduce food waste and help deliver better quality produce to consumers. We’re growing the team to scale, improve our product offerings, and build new products.

Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

We are looking for an engineering leader with at least 10 years of hands‑on engineering experience, including significant experience in supply chain and manufacturing leadership, to help lead Strella’s engineering and operations teams.

• Understanding and comfort in managing and being hands‑on in several engineering fields, including mechanical, electrical and network engineering.
• The ability to take a design from concept to production — understanding customer product requirements, creating product specifications, and establishing execution timelines and KPIs.
• Supply chain, manufacturing, and fulfillment experience; responsible for managing procurement, manufacturing, and delivery of Strella’s hardware components and devices end‑to‑end.
• Planning and operations: demand/capacity forecasting, planning and execution; managing timelines; negotiating contracts and optimizing cash flows.
• Hardware product life‑cycle management: from concept, design, acquisition, manufacturing, deployment, service, all the way to feedback and retirement.
• Managing a small team of engineers, operators and consultants.
• Startup experience preferred.
