About the Role
Technically minded librarian/archivist needed to work on a collaborative team dedicated to water quality, process improvement and design for the Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) Conveyance and Treatment Systems.
Responsibilities include managing the Engineering Content Management System (ECMS), cataloging engineering drawings, transferring record drawings into the ECMS database, supporting internal and external requests, and ensuring WTD has accurate records of built infrastructure. The position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in‑person work.
About the TeamThe Engineering and Technical Resources Unit is part of a larger group of engineers, technical professionals and designers delivering the Capital Improvement Program. The unit collaborates with Plant Engineering staff who maintain Masters/Facility Drawings.

- Serve as the Administrator of the ECMS digital engineering project collection.
- Provide assistance to internal and external customers researching engineering records.
- Help manage ECMS, an online document management system with about 100,000 records.
- Develop policies and procedures for digitizing, managing, and retrieving records.
- Work collaboratively with Engineers and Designers to manage engineering records.
- Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of an Electronic Content Management System.
- Customer Focused – Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer‑centric solutions.

- Collaborates – Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

- Nimble Learning – Actively learn through experimentation when tackling new problems.
- Experience with Engineering Drawings and Records.
- Experience as an Engineering Librarian/Archivist.
- Work Details – Hybrid model with days in office and telecommuting; onsite location primarily King Street Center, Seattle, WA.
- Requirement – Employees must reside in Washington State within reasonable distance to King County worksites.
- Work Schedule – Covered under FLSA; overtime eligible.
- Union Representation – Position is represented by Technical Employees' Association (TEA) bargaining unit.
