The Associate Overhead Transmission Line Structural Engineer performs design engineering and analysis of transmission line work for global projects, including rebuilding and greenfield projects of 345 kV+ and emerging technologies such as HVDC and 765 kV.

• Support global transmission projects with design engineering and analysis.
• Work on 345 kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including HVDC and 765 kV technologies.
• Collect and assimilate data, conduct research, and prepare calculations in accordance with industry standards.
• Develop recommendations for equipment and materials, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Assist engineering team members and maintain positive client relationships through effective communication.
• Support business development activities as needed.

As part of BV Operations, you will work on projects that support our three market sectors:
Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. Your contributions will help advance infrastructure worldwide.

Engineering Standards:

• Stay current on departmental design guides, industry codes, and Black & Veatch policies.
• Apply standards to assigned tasks.

Quality / Continuous Improvement:

• Comply with the Black & Veatch quality program on assigned tasks.
• Support continuous‑improvement and change‑management efforts.

Engineering Production:

• Prepare and verify less complex engineering deliverables.
• Develop recommendations for equipment and materials.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
• Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods.
• Adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Project Coordination:

• Seek guidance from supervisor or project leadership on design details.
• Coordinate with assigned collaborators as directed.

Client Focus:

• Address internal client needs and understand external client interests.
• Provide support to business development or pursuit activities when needed.

Knowledge Sharing, Innovation, and Technology:

• Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.

Individual Contributor.

• Experience with utility‑scale projects.
• Experience with PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag
  10 or Ultralite.
• Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3‑D analysis and design software.
• Solid experience with Excel or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle record search).

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
