Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, providing Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a passionate and growing team of experts, you will use your expertise in aerospace systems and Industrial Engineering best practices to plan and develop launch vehicle processes and supporting ground infrastructure. You will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing production, test, and operational processes to enable efficient, safe, and cost‑effective launch operations, requiring close collaboration with design engineering, manufacturing, test operations, supply chain, and facilities teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize production processes for launch vehicle components, subsystems, and ground support infrastructure.
  • Design and implement workflow models, facility layouts, and resource plans to support scalable launch operations.
  • Conduct process simulations, time studies, and capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
  • Support tooling and fixture development to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles are incorporated early.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, schedule risk, and non‑conformances in both hardware and operations.
  • Support infrastructure planning for launch pads, integration facilities, and ground support equipment.
  • Provide data‑driven recommendations to leadership regarding investment in automation, workforce allocation, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in tooling fabrication, precision machining, or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fastening, machining, welding, automated assembly, and material properties (aluminum, steel, composites).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, CATIA, Solid Works) and digital manufacturing software (e.g., Delmia, Tecnomatix) and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience with GD&T and dimensional inspection methods.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Experience supporting programs/projects through the product development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing/operations, specifically with launch vehicles or spaceflight hardware.
  • Experience with launch site operations, ground support equipment, or facility design.
  • Familiarity with rocket propulsion, composite structures, and large‑scale assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing process improvement initiatives.
