Our client is an advanced engineering organization developing highly reliable power and control systems for operation in extreme and regulated environments. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and validation of complex electrical and control systems used in next-generation hardware programs.
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 5 months

Compensation: $64.00 - $70.00 per hour. All experience levels are encouraged to apply.
This blends electrical design, controls development, test system buildout, and real-time troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning hardware end-to-end, from schematic and controls logic through wiring, testing, and debugging.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design, test, and manufacture electrical subsystems
- Design, implement, and optimize control systems used in both R&D and production environments
- Review and contribute to designs for power distribution, power conversion, battery systems, controls, and data communications
- Design and build electrical test racks including power supplies, DAQ systems, sensors, communications, and grounding schemes
- Develop and maintain LabVIEW-based test and data acquisition systems
- Support environmental and acceptance testing activities (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, etc.)
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues during test execution and system integration
- Produce and review technical documentation including specifications, interface documents, BOMs, test plans, procedures, and reports
- Provide SME-level support for supplier designs, fabrication activities, and test results
- Perform other engineering duties as required to support program execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience (5+ years with advanced degree)
- Proficiency with electrical schematic, controls, and harness design tools (e.g., LTspice, Altium, Solid Works Electrical, or similar)
- Strong LabVIEW experience, including modular VI architecture, state machines, and event-driven programming
- Hands‑on experience with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, DAQ hardware, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to build and work with hardware, including soldering, wiring harnesses, and test rack assembly
- Familiarity with communication protocols used in ruggedized or aerospace‑style environments
- Understanding of environmental test impacts on electronics (EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal, vacuum, etc.)
- Experience working under formal quality systems (AS9100, NQA‑style programs, ISO, or similar)
- Self‑directed, able to operate with minimal oversight in fast‑moving environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in aerospace, energy, defense, or other high‑reliability industries
- EMI/EMC testing exposure
- Hardware‑in‑the‑loop or automated test systems
- Python or scripting for test automation
- Experience supporting external suppliers or test facilities
