DLR Group's Audiovisual Systems Design Team is growing, and we’re seeking an Entry-Level Audiovisual Designer to join us in one of the following studios:
- Cleveland
- Seattle
As an Entry-Level Audiovisual Designer at DLR Group, you will support the design and delivery of innovative audiovisual systems that enhance the built environment. You’ll work closely with senior audiovisual designers and integrated design teams to develop coordinated, high-quality solutions across all project phases. In this role, you’ll apply your technical curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail to help translate client goals into effective and sustainable audiovisual designs.
WhatYou Will Do
- Collaborate with senior audiovisual designers and integrated design teams to develop audiovisual system solutions
- Apply DLR Group practice standards, QA/QC procedures, and BIM protocols throughout all project phases
- Assist in developing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation that align with project goals and budgets
- Identify and propose solutions to audiovisual design challenges using industry codes, standards, and best practices
- Coordinate design input with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated project delivery
- Provide accurate, high-quality deliverables that meet established schedules and project requirements
- Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative ideas to advance design excellence
- Maintain awareness of project workplans and manage individual deliverables to align with time and budget targets
- Communicate effectively with team members through timely written, verbal, and visual means
- Pursue ongoing professional and technical development, sharing knowledge and insights with peers
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architecture, or field related to audio and video equipment use and integration
- 2-5 years of professional experience in audiovisual systems design or a related discipline
- Experience designing audiovisual systems for commercial, education, or civic environments
- Ability to travel as projects require
- Understanding of audiovisual system components, signal flow, and design documentation
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- AVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist (at minimum)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary and geographically diverse team
- Commitment to learning and applying DLR Group’s quality standards and integrated design processes
- Familiarity with audiovisual control systems and related software platforms
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or progress toward certification
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations affecting AV design
- Interest in sustainable and technology-driven design solutions

The suggested pay range for this position is: $55,000 - $80,000 USD
